# DFM — The Fund Management OS

> The operating system for onchain funds on Solana.

DFM lets anyone launch an onchain fund: a basket of Solana tokens with declared weights, held by a vault that no person holds the key to. Anyone can deposit USDC into a fund and receive shares; a share is an equal claim on every token the vault holds. Shares can be redeemed at any time for USDC or for the tokens themselves. People and AI agents use exactly the same functions — from the app, or from an agent through DFM's MCP server.

## Give an agent DFM

- MCP server `@dfm-fi/agent` (tool list: the server's `tools/list`): `npx -y @dfm-fi/agent install`
- With writes: `npx -y @dfm-fi/agent install --write --api-key dfm_...` — API key from app.dfm.finance → Agent → Keys. A headless agent with no human account onboards itself instead: `onboard` → `set_profile` → `create_app_wallet` → `app_wallet_fund` (see the agent skill).
- Read-only by default. Never asks for, reads or stores a private key or seed phrase. Writes need DFM_AGENT_WRITE_ENABLED=true and a key you can revoke.
- Every fund operation runs from your app wallet, which signs for you so agents can act. Revoke it or export the key at any time.
